- 18 years of age

I want to become a hearing instrument dispenser, what is the process?
To become a hearing instrument
dispenser you must:
- apply for a training permit
- receive an apprentice dispenser
permit
- Complete and pass both a
practical and didactic dispenser’s examination

What are the requirements necessary to become a board certified hearing
instrument specialist?
The National Board for
Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences is the association that can best
answer this question. We provide a link to their web page for further
information. Requirements before sitting for examination are:
- Current state license
- Two years dispensing experience
Upon successful completion of
the examination, board certification will be awarded.
